Enzymes that Bring Clarity and Cut Emissions

DSM says its Clarex family of enzymes for the drinks industry can not only prevent haze in beer and other drinks, but also reduce brewers’ greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.   Typically, the use of Clarex enzymes, instead of the standard practise of preventing haze by using chemicals and refrigeration, saves about 8% of GHG emissions. Using enzymes also saves brewers money, the company says.
