Elevance, Wilmar commission Indonesian biorefinery

Elevance Renewable Sciences (Woodbridge, IL) and Wilmar International Limited announced today that they have begun shipping renewable chemicals from their previously announced joint venture biorefinery at Gresik, Indonesia. Located within Wilmar’s integrated Gresik ag complex, the $40-million,180,000 m.t./year plant is the first to deploy Elevance’s metathesis process for converting triglycerides and fatty acids found in natural oils into multifunctional esters, alpha and internal olefins, and oleochemicals.
