EU approves state aid to French green chemistry project

The European Commission on Thursday approved aid granted by France to The French Institute of Agro-Based Material (Ifmas) for the development of plant-based plastics and biobased paints. The €43.7-million ($59.9 million) aid falls within the EU state aid rules, and the project would help to achieve EU targets in the area of science and the environment without unduly distorting competition in the European internal market, the commission says.   “The advances envisaged by this ambitious project would make it possible to substitute plant-based...
