EU and industry join forces to invest $28 billion in research and innovation

The European Commission, member states of the European Union, and European industry are to jointly invest more than €22 billion ($28 billion) in innovation over the next 7 years. Most of the investment will go to five public-private partnerships (PPPs)—joint technology initiatives (JTIs)—in biobased industries, fuel cells and hydrogen, innovative medicine, aeronautics, and electronics.
