DSM CTO Touts Yeast and Innovation Potential

Newly appointed DSM CTO Marcel Wubbolts tells CW that the company’s recent acquisition of C5 Yeast Company (Bergen op Zoom, The Netherlands) will help it optimize a second-generation biofuel platform. “Combining [DSM and C5 Yeast Company] adds to both our technology position and IP position in yeast strains that can consume C5 sugars in addition to C6,” he says.
