Codexis, Chemtex Develop Detergent Alcohols from Cellulosic Biomass

Codexis says it has signed a deal with Chemtex, an engineering and technology firm owned by Mossi & Ghisolfi (M&G), to develop and produce sustainable detergent alcohols for the household products market. The deal includes development of a process for converting cellulosic biomass to detergent alcohols using Chemtex’s Proesa pretreatment and viscosity reduction technology and Codexis’ directed evolution technology.
