This week, BASF has made yet another advance in the lithium battery materials sector through its licensing in of  lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery materials from LiFePO4+C Licensing (Muttenz, Switzerland), an affiliate of Clariant-subsidiary Süd-Chemie.  Süd-Chemie now has a very large competitor in one of its favorite fields.
