Bayer Holds R&D Spend in 2011, Seeks Greater Efficiencies

Bayer will flatten its R&D spend for 2011 at this year’s level of €1.3 billion ($ 1.7 billion), says Marijn Dekkers, Bayer chairman. Dekkers made the announcement yesterday at the firm’s annual innovation forum held at Leverkusen. The levelling off of R&D spending follows a 13% annual rise in 2010, compared with that of the year earlier.
