BASF Reorients R&D, Predicts 2012 Spending of $2.3 Billion

BASF says is reorienting its R&D activities so that they are more aligned to the group's key growth markets and so that R&D is undertaken more efficiently across the group. The reorientation will involve the company growing its R&D presence globally, devoting greater efforts to sustainability issues, and expanding its product and technology portfolio. The company says also that it will increase R&D spending in 2012 to €1.7 billion ($2.3 billion) in 2012, up from €1.6 billion in 2011.
