Appeals court rules against Butamax in isobutanol patent dispute

Gevo (Englewood, CO), a maker of biobased isobutanol, says a recent appeals court decision supports Gevo’s position in a patent dispute with rival Butamax Advanced Biofuels (Wilmington, DE). Butamax had sought an injunction restricting commercial activity on the grounds that Gevo’s infringes on Butamax patent ‘889.
