AkzoNobel Agrees to Buy Biomaterial Separation Technology

AkzoNobel says it has agreed to acquire a technology from privately owned Integrated Botanical Technologies (IBT; New York) for separating certain materials, such as bioactive molecules, from plant material. Financial terms were not disclosed.   The patented method, named Zeta Fraction technology, makes it possible to harvest and separate constituent parts of a living cell from any plant or marine source without requiring any solvents.
