Verdict Expected Tomorrow in Argentine Herbicide Lawsuit

An Argentine court plans to rule tomorrow in a landmark lawsuit brought by residents of Córdoba who have sued two soybean growers and the pilot of a spray plane for alleged health problems caused by glyphosate, endosulfan, and other herbicides used on nearby soybean fields. The plaintiffs, members of the activist group Mothers of Ituzaingó (Córdoba), say residents in the area have a cancer rate that is 41 times the national average, as well as elevated infant-mortality rates and other illnesses.
