U.S. Appeals Court Stalls Implementation of Cross-State Emissions Rule

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia has granted a petition by power companies, as well as some states and lawmakers, seeking a stay in the scheduled implementation of  U.S. EPA’s cross-state emissions rule. The rule requires 27 states to reduce air emissions including sulfur dioxide and nitrous oxide and had been slated to take effect January 1.
