Officials: French Findings Do Not Alter EFSA's 2010 BPA Assessment

The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) says recent findings by the French food safety authority Anses does not change EFSA’s 2010 assessment of bisphenol A (BPA), saying Anses work “was limited to hazard identification while EFSA has carried out a full risk assessment of BPA. The (TDI) of 0.05 mg/kg body weight that EFSA set protects “all human populations for lifetime exposure to this substance through the diet.”   EFSA;s affirmation of its BPA assessment follows a request by the European Commission which sought clarification...
