OECD Adds to Case for 30% Carbon Emissions Cut by EU, Dismisses Industry Concerns

Angel Gurría, secretary-general of the the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD; Paris) has welcomed the call in recent days by ministers in France, Germany and the U.K. for the European Union (EU) to adopt a 30% reduction in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions over 1990 levels by 2020. The EU’s current position is to reduce emissions 20% by 2020.
