Monsanto Reaches Settlement in Nitro, WV Dioxin Case

Monsanto says it has reached a settlement with plaintiffs in a medical monitoring lawsuit related to the company’s legacy liability for a former Agent Orange production unit at Nitro, WV. Plaintiffs allege Monsanto’s manufacturing of the defoliant before it was banned in the 1970s resulted in dioxin contamination in the area. The suit sought compensation for medical monitoring for thousands of residents in the area.
