House Passes Bill Requiring DHS to Streamline Process for Security Credentials

The U.S. House of Representatives has passed a bill that would streamline the process for truckers and other personnel to obtain and renew a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC), a barometric-capable identity card that allows entry into secure areas of ports and other facilities. The bill would require the Department of Homeland Security to reform the process for enrollment, activation, issuance and renewal of TWIC, says ACC, which supports the bill.
