France's Senate approves ban on BPA in food packaging, medical devices

France’s Senate, on 9 October, unanimously voted in favor of a measure to ban bisphenol A (BPA) in food packaging and medical devices, beginning July 2015. The measure, which now must be reconciled with a version passed by the National Assembly, would make France the first country to ban BPA in food packaging.
