Europe releases new clean air package

The European Commission has released a set of measures aimed at addressing air quality in Europe, the culmination of a major review of air policy started in 2011. The package adopted today consists of a number of components, including a new clean air program for Europe, a revised national emission ceilings directive, and a proposal for a new directive to reduce pollution from medium-sized combustion installations, such as energy plants for large buildings or small industrial installations.
