Europe Tightens Food Additive Regulations

The European Commission today has adopted two pieces of legislation to control additives in foods as part of its efforts to strengthen food safety. The regulation features the introduction of two lists; one for producers to identify which additives are permitted in a particular foodstuff; and a second list of additives in food ingredients such as enzymes, flavorings and nutrients.
