EnviroTech :: Environment Europe Recovers 50% of its Plastics Waste for the First Time12:38 PM MST | February 4, 2008 | Chemical Week Editorial Staff Half of all post-consumer plastics ending up as waste in Europe were recovered as recycling or as energy recovery for the first time in 2006, says a newly published report by PlasticsEurope (Brussels), the European federation of plastics manufacturers, in partnership with three other European plastics associations. Recycling rates increased to 19.7% of all plastics waste in 2006 and energy recovery rates rose to 30.3%, the report says.
