EU Member States Propose Adding 20 Chemicals to SVHC List10:00 AM MDT | September 12, 2011 | Alex Scott Several European Union (EU) member states and the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA; Helsinki) have proposed adding 20 chemicals to the Registration, Evaluation, and Authorisation of Chemicals (Reach) candidate list of Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC). The 20 chemicals, if deemed to be SVHCs, would be subject to the authorization phase of the Reach program and could be banned or have their use restricted in the EU.
