EPA Seeks Comment on Revised Approach to Chemical Action Plans4:09 PM MDT | August 29, 2011 | Kara Sissell EPA is seeking feedback on a plan for prioritizing chemicals targeted for enhanced scrutiny under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA). The plan, or “discussion guide,” is a revised approach to the Chemical Action Plans, which EPA initiated in early 2010 and were seen as an important tool for strengthening EPA’s chemicals management program. The new approach has generated some concern among industry representatives that the proposed methodology would generate a large initial list of chemicals that would be stigmatized, despite EPA’s assurance that such a listing would not “in itself” mean the substance is considered to pose a risk....
