EPA Links Groundwater Contamination in Wyoming to Hydraulic Fracturing

EPA says its draft analysis of groundwater in Pavillion, WY indicates there has been migration of certain chemicals from hydraulic fracturing operations that resulted in concentrations "well above" what federal standards deem safe for drinking water. The draft analysis is the first time the agency has linked contamination at a specific site to nearby hydraulic fracturing.
