ECHA Adds 13 Candidate SVHCs, Rejects Bid to Restrict Four Phthalates12:30 PM MDT | June 18, 2012 | Ian Young The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA; Helsinki) has added 13 substances of very high concern (SVHC) to the candidate list under the European Union's (EU) Registration, Evaluation, and Authorisation of Chemicals (Reach) program. All of the substances are classified as carcinogenic, mutagenic, or toxic for reproduction. The substances include diboron trioxide, formamide, and lead(II) bis. Substances on the candidate list may be subject to authorization under Reach. The latest additions increase the number of substances on the candidate list to 84, ECHA says...
