Dow Settles EPA Violations for $2.5 Million

Dow Chemical and EPA have reached an agreement for Dow to pay $2.5 million to settle federal violations at Dow’s Midland, MI complex. The settlement resolves “air, water, and waste issues identified during an inspection that was conducted over a 20-month period between August 2005 and March 2007,” Dow says. “The general nature of many of the noncompliance allegations involved missed inspections, paperwork, incompleteness and procedural issues.” Dow says the company has learned “very valuable lessons” from the process...
