Bush Appoints Dudley to Run OMB Office Through 2008

The Bush administration has pushed through the nomination of a controversial Office of Management and Budget (OMB) official, using a Congressional “recess appointment” to sidestep Senate oversight, critics say. President Bush nominated Susan Dudley to head OMB’s Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA) last July, but the nomination was put on hold due to concerns that the Democratic-controlled Senate would not confirm her.
