Belarus signs agreement to destroy stockpiles of obsolete pesticides

The United Nations' Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) is cooperating with the European Union to help Belarus destroy prohibited and unusable pesticides and reduce the risks related to the use of chemicals in agriculture in the future, the Belarusian Telegraph Agency reported today. The agreement with Belarus was signed as part of the FAO/EU four-year project on safe management of pesticides throughout the former Soviet Union, which was launched in 2012.
