Australian PM-elect reaffirms plans to repeal the country's carbon tax

Australia's prime minister-elect, Tony Abbott, has reaffirmed plans to repeal Australia's carbon tax legislation, following the victory of his Liberal-National coalition in federal elections on 7 September , according to reports by Bloomberg. Abbott's coalition campaigned vowing to repeal the carbon tax. Abbott still needs the backing of minor parties in the country's upper house to scrap the carbon tax, Bloomberg says.
