Waxman Secures Moderate Democrats’ Support for Climate Bill (Update)

The House Energy and Commerce Committee has released a revised version of legislation to create a U.S. cap-and-trade program for greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, reflecting an agreement by the bill's sponsors and some of the committee's more moderate Democrats who had lobbied for changes that would shield energy intensive industries from competitive disadvantages.
