U.S. Government Calls for HFC Phasedown

The U.S. State Department has signed on to a proposal, along with Canada and Mexico, calling for the phasing down of the use of hydrofluorocarbons (HFC), a greenhouse gas, under the Montreal Protocol. An HFC phasedown will "make great strides to achieve President Obama’s call to reduce U.S. greenhouse gas emissions 80% by 2050," the State Department says.
