U.K. Chemical Industry Feels Heat of 50% Carbon Cuts (with Ineos update)

The Chemical Industries Association (CIA; London) says the U.K. government’s announcement to cut carbon emissions in the country 50% by 2025 from a baseline year of 1990 would damage the chemical industry. The CIA says transitional support measures must be effective or industries that make carbon saving products would be “wiped out.” The government has promised a support package for industry to cope with the new environmental regulations and says it will unveil detailed plans later this year.   CIA’s CEO Steve Elliott...
