Pressure Mounts to Combat Climate Change, Pollution

Major developing countries, including China, are under growing international pressure to accept a greater share of responsibility for combating global warming. The pressure is likely to grow through December, when a United Nations summit of world leaders, to be held in Indonesia, will consider a successor to the Kyoto Protocol on climate change, which is due to expire in 2012.
