Merck KGaA commissions cogeneration plant at Darmstadt

Merck KGaA (Darmstadt, Germany) has commissioned a cogeneration plant that will supply energy to pharmaceutical production and research operations at its corporate headquarters. The plant was commissioned by Karl-Ludwig Kley, executive board chairman at Merck; and Sigmar Gabriel, German minister for economic affairs and energy. The company says that with its own power plants it is securing the long-term generation of power needed to manufacture its products.
