Japan will promote the initiative at the next G-8 summit, to be held in Germany this month, and at the G-8 summit in Japan next year. Cool Earth 50 could be the blueprint for the next major international climate change agreement, going beyond the Kyoto Protocol, which expires in 2012, Abe says. Abe: Establish a new framework.
