Global Carbon Markets Heat Up...

The global market for greenhouse gas emission permits and credits grew 41%, to €15.8 billion ($21.2 billion) in the first six months of 2007, compared with the year-ago period, says a study by carbon trading information firm Point Carbon (Oslo). About 1.2 billion m.t. of carbon dioxide (CO2) equivalent were traded in the first half, an increase of 45% on the same period of 2006.
