Europe to Ban Carbon Credits Based on the Destruction of HFC-23 and N2O

European Union (EU) member states have voted to ban from the EU's Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) carbon credits gained by destroying the greenhouse gases hydrofluorocarbon-23 (HFC-23) and nitrous oxide (N2O). The ban will come into force in April 2013 if it receives approval from the European Parliament.
