Clariant supplies catalyst for CO2 methanation plant

Clariant announced today that it has supplied its proprietary carbon dioxide (CO2)–Substitute Natural Gas (SNG) catalyst for the methanation unit of Audi’s new power-to-gas facility at Werlte, Germany. The Audi plant was started up in June this year and will produce an average of 1.4 million cubic meters of renewable synthetic methane/year, chemically binding some 2,800 m.t. of CO2. Its output is enough to supply 1,500 new Audi A3 Sportback g-tron vehicles with an annual mileage of 15,000 CO2 neutral kilometers, Clariant says. The plant was developed...
