China to Intensify Efforts to Cut Emissions, Launch Emissions Trading Project

The Chinese premier Wen Jiabao has called for intensified efforts to reduce emissions and save energy over the next five years to tackle climate change and to promote sustainable development, the Chinese government says. Wen was speaking in Beijing yesterday, at a meeting about coping with climate change and promoting energy saving and emission reductions.
