EnviroTech :: Climate Change Cabot's GHG Emissions Decline With Output11:27 AM MST | December 22, 2009 | Vincent Valk Cabot Corporation's greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions for 2008 totaled 4,440,000 m.t., an 11% decline from 2007, according to the company's most recent sustainability report. The decline matched the company's 12% decline in output. Cabot's Scope 1 emissions totaled 4,040,000 m.t., while Scope 2 emissions were 362,000 m.t., according to the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP; London). Scope 1 emissions are from production processes, while Scope 2 emissions are from purchased electricity. The company has a voluntary target of reducing its GHG emissions intensity by 20%...
