Metabolix awarded grant for energy crop development

Metabolix (Cambridge, MA) says it has received a grant under the Advanced Research Projects Agency - Energy (ARPA-E) to work with the UCLA Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science to redesign carbon fixation pathways to increase plants' efficiency in capturing energy from sunlight. This grant is the third awarded to Metabolix in 2012 for crop research targeting multigene expression and transformation of plants.
