Total Petrochemicals Unveils New Family of Metallocene Catalysts

Total Petrochemicals says it has introduced a new family of single-site metallocene catalysts, marketed under the name Lumicene, for manufacturing polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP). The polymerization catalysts feature a new proprietary platform technology, the company says. Further details about the technology were not disclosed.The catalysts lead to superior product cleanliness, improved gloss and transparency, better gas barrier and chemical resistance, improved processing and mechanical properties when compared with other catalysts, Total says.  ...
