Süd-Chemie Records 22% Hike in First-Quarter Ebitda

Süd-Chemie (Munich), the catalyst business recently acquired by Clariant, has recorded Ebitda up 22.5% to €36.5 million ($53 million) for the first quarter of 2011 on sales up 21% to €319 million. The company says it continues to have a “positive outlook” for full-year 2011.   The Catalytic Technologies business unit generated sales of €89.9 million in the first three months of the year, representing an increase of €5.4 million – or 6.4% - on the same period a year ago.
