Johnson Matthey to Open Diesel Catalyst Plant in U.S.

Johnson Matthey says tomorrow it will officially open a new plant at Smithfield, PA for manufacturing selective catalytic reduction (SCR) catalysts used to control diesel emissions in the automotive sector. The $43 million,150,000 sq. ft., facility is located on an 11.5 acre greenfield site near Smithfield, in southwest Pennsylvania. The company also owns 17.5 additional acres to accommodate future expansion. The company did not disclose production capacity at the plant.   The facility is dedicated to making catalysts for the North American diesel market...
