Johnson Matthey to Buy German Catalyst Maker

Johnson Matthey says it has signed an agreement to buy catalyst company Argillon Group (Redwitz, Germany) for €214 million ($313.8 million) in cash from Ceramics Luxembourg, a company owned by private equity firm Kohlberg Kravis Roberts (New York). Argillon has leading catalyst technology used to control nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions, which will expand Johnson Matthey’s existing product line, Johnson Matthey says.
