Wacker’s Secretion Technology Studied

Wacker Biotech (Jena, Germany), a wholly owned subsidiary of Wacker Chemie, says it has completed a feasibility study demonstrating that the company’s secretion technology can produce active protein comparable to that produced by mammalian cell cultures. “We believe the positive results of this study demonstrate that secreting E. coli systems can be a great tool for producing biologics in the future,” says Thomas Maier, managing director of Wacker Biotech.
