EnviroTech :: Biotech Tate & Lyle Signs Farnesene Production Deal with Amyris12:22 PM MDT | November 5, 2010 | Nancy Seewald Tate & Lyle (T&L; Decatur, IL) says it has signed a contract manufacturing agreement with biochemicals start-up Amyris (Emeryville, CA) under which T&L will produce the biobased raw material farnesene for Amyris. T&L will expand its Decatur facility in order to accommodate the production capacity. Amyris plans to use the farnesene in the production of lubricants, consumer products, polymers, and fuels.
