Sanofi-Aventis to Establish Biotech Facility in France

Sanofi-Aventis (Paris) says it has started up the “Biolaunch project” at its Vitry-sur-Seine (France) pharmaceutical production site. The €200-million ($266 million) project will provide the company with its first cell-culture biotechnoloy platform by 2012 for monoclonal antibody production, Sanofi-Aventis says. The project includes R&D and production. Sanofi-Aventis says it plans to make the facility available to other companies, based on their development or production needs.
