9:00 AM MDT | April 16, 2012 | Rebecca Coons
Elevance Renewable Sciences (Woodridge, IL) and XiMo, a Rapperswil, Switzerland-based catalyst developer, say they have successfully demonstrated the production of commercially competitive natural oil esters using molybdenum-based metathesis catalysts. Elevance and XiMo began working together in January 2011 and have since tested more than 40 catalysts. Elevance licensed certain tungsten- and molybdenum-based catalysts from XiMo, which Elevance says complement its portfolio of ruthenium catalysts.
