Consortium Seeks to Demonstrate Algae's Biorefining Potential

The BIOfuel from Algae Technologies (BIOFAT) project is funded in large part by the European Commission and will be coordinated by Abengoa Bioenergy (Saint Louis) subsidiary Abengoa Bioenergía Nuevas Tecnologías (ABNT). . The development team will train on existing prototypes in Israel, Portugal and Italy, then scale up the process at a 10-hectare demonstration plant.
